Two AEK teams were involved in Watford Friendly league cup finals last Sunday.

AEK U18s Blacks won a hard fought Challenge Cup Final 3-2 vs Hadleywood & Wingate who pushed them all the way. Goalscorers were George Demosthenous scored 2 superb finishes and Xavier Cumberbatch scored a collectors item swooping header too! This completes the double for the team having won the top U18s division (with all U17 players) winning 13 out of 14 matches and scoring 55 golas and only conceding 22. The AFA cup final defeat meant the treble was not to be completed but overall this set of players should be proud not only of their free scoring and fluid football played, but also for the way they have conducted themselves both on and off the pitch, making their coaches Dave Cumberbatch & Marino Charalambous proud. The are a credit to themselves and to the club.

AEK U15s Blacks also reached the final of the Spring Cup, defeated by league winners Alexandra Park Youth U15s. The first half ended 0-0 and was very evenly matched. APYFC were stronger and more clinical in the 2nd half going on to win the game 2-0. The boys should be proud of their performances this season, finishing runners up to APYFC and getting to a final a great achievement in itself. Coaches Mario Michael & Andy Lancaster have been so impressed with the boys commitment to training/matches, their willingness to learn and also their fantastic attitude. Its been a great season with some super performances along the way. Well done boys!
