AEK Larnaca FC won the Cyprus Cup on Wednesday after beating Apollon of Limassol  2-1 at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.

It is AEK`s second Cyprus Cup victory. The last time was in 2004.

Apollon was trying to win the Cup for the third consecutive time.

AEK have qualified for the 2018–19 Europa League second qualifying round.

AEK began the game badly with Apollon opening the scoring with Schembri in the 45th minute and in tradional cup style AEK attacked fiercely to recover and did so with goals coming from top scorer Florian Taulemesse and another from Reyes to give AEK a 2-1 win.
