Cyprus-born Paraskevas Evriviades. AKA Barry came from the village of Ayoi Vavatasania  Cyprus at the age of twenty in the 1960’s working as a waiter and eventually saved up to own his own Cafe in the 1970’s.

 Now The Britannia Café in Thorntree Lane and the Acropolis Café Bar in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter are Derby’s oldest eateries – thanks to Barry and his brothers.
It is now ran by Paraskevas son in law Matt and Paraskevas Evriviades daughters Gill and Helen.

As it was before

They are famous for fry ups, fish and chips and steak pies!as well as many other home made specials and desserts.
