Enfield Council has issued a new appeal to catch two men, caught on CCTV, shamelessly dumping rubbish.

If caught, the dumpers will receive a £400 fixed penalty notice each, and if they refuse to pay, will be prosecuted by Enfield Council.

The act happened on Sunday 10 September at 10.42am in Munster Gardens, N13.

At the beginning of 2017, Enfield Council announced a higher penalty charge for those caught dumping waste illegally, doubling the penalty from the previous £200.

Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Daniel Anderson, said: “Enfield Council spends £4.5m each year cleaning our streets, and £800,000 alone on dealing with flytipping.

“There are plenty of ways of disposing of waste legally and responsibly in the borough, so there really is no excuse to dump rubbish in this way. I am therefore looking forward to seeing these men being caught and handed fixed penalty notices.

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information on these culprits to report them as soon as possible through our website. Help the Council in its efforts to make Enfield cleaner and greener.”

Enfield Council is clamping down on unscrupulous individuals and those who won’t organise bulky waste collections by going through the proper channels.

If you are having bulky waste picked up and disposed on your behalf, please make sure you ask to see the relevant Waste Carrier’s Licence, otherwise you too could be presented with a fixed penalty notice. Help Enfield in its efforts to be cleaner and greener.

Residents can report fly-tipping directly through the Council’s website here: https://new.enfield.gov.uk/services/rubbish-and-recycling/rubbish-and-litter/fly-tipping-and-litter/ or call the Waste Enforcement Team on 0208 379 1000.
