Kyriacou Lambrou sadly passed away in Cyprus on Thursday 10.08 2017 at the age of 78. Kyriacou will always be remembered in our community for her work within the London Greek Schools. and also within the Waltham Forest area where she lived. Kyriacou organised trips and events for the elderly at the Cypriots at the Community Centre in Wood Green, London. She was also a member of the Cypriot Womens’ League.

Kyriacou Lambrou was from the village of Kontea and came to the UK in 1959 and worked as a hairdresser then a seamstress.

Her husband Christofis was the General Secretary OESEKA (Federation of Educational Associations of Greek Cypriots in England), Vice Chairman of the Greek Parents Association.

She leaves behind her husband Christofis Lambrou from Achna five children Lambros, Marios, Tasos, Georgia and Alex. Two daughter in laws Nadia and Karen, and Alex’s fiancee Philippa.

She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren Sophie, Chris,Raea, Daniel, Kerry, Yiana, Michael and Zak and Great grandchild, Aaniyah and was looking forward to two (twins) on the way.

Kyriacou’s son Lambros Lambrou was the editor of the English section of our paper for several years, he is now a solicitor and partner at YVA Solicitors.

The Funeral will be taking place in Cyprus at 11am on Monday 14th August 2017 at St Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, Oroklini 7040, Larnaca, Cyprus.
