A 27-year-old man was arrested Friday night after attempting to travel abroad from Paphos airport with more than €100,000 cash in his luggage.

The man, who was to board an outbound flight, was arrested at around 8.45pm after airport security staff spotted €102,900 in €500 and €50 notes during the luggage control of the flight in question in a hand bag belonging to the 27-year-old.

He is being investigated for the offence of illegal possession of property as he did not provide satisfactory information as to where that money had come from.
