Thousands of residents are enjoying better customer services than ever before following the introduction of an Enfield Council webchat service which allows people to resolve problems with a trained customer services officer.

The webchat helps residents complete tasks such as finding out about housing benefit, council tax queries, planning issues, housing queries and refuse / recycling requests and support its Enfield Connected functionality. This makes it easier than ever before for residents to go online and find what they are looking for quickly and at their convenience.

Since its launch in July, nearly 2,000 users have accessed the service and received help and the number of people using the service is rising all the time.

This week, Enfield Council’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Achilleas Georgiou, visited the Customer Service Centre to see for himself how webchat meets the needs of customers, by sitting in on some webchat conversations with Customer Services Officer Rayenveer Dumree.

Cllr Georgiou said “It’s all about improving customer services, pure and simple. Webchat really suits people who contact the council during working hours using a PC, tablet or smartphone during the day. It is really simple to make contact with us in this way.”

To log onto webchat, visit Enfield Council, scroll to the bottom of the page, click ‘Contact us’ and the blue ‘Webchat’ bubble will appear to the right of the screen. Click on it to begin chatting.
