Police were called at 18:21hrs on Saturday, 12 November to reports of a fight outside a fast food restaurant on Church Elm Lane in Dagenham.

Officers attended and discovered a 16-year-old boy [victim 1] suffering from stab injuries. Officers provided first aid and he was taken by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to an east London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Approximately seven minutes later, officers were called by the LAS to Wyhill Walk following reports of 17-year-old [victim 2] found suffering from stab injuries. He was taken to an east London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 03:25hrs.

Next of kin have been informed; formal identification is yet to take place.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

At this early stage, enquiries are ongoing to establish whether both victims were injured in the same incident. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
