Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a stabbing in Edmonton.

In particular, detectives want to trace a dark coloured car – believed to be either a ‘people carrier’ type vehicle or possibly a black cab – which officers believe drove the suspects to the scene.

At around 20:50hrs on Wednesday, 5 October, a 21-year-old man was stabbed in Monmouth Road, N9 following a brief altercation with two suspects.

The 21-year-old victim was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service, suffering stab injuries to his abdomen. His condition is serious but stable – not believed to be life-threatening.

Both suspects are described as black males and around 18 years of age.

Trident officers are investigating the incident. There has been no arrest at this early stage.

Detective Chief Inspector Dan Brown said: “Although we are uncertain as to the exact type of vehicle seen before the attack, I need to hear from anyone – possibly a private hire or taxi driver – who took two males to the Monmouth Road area on Wednesday night.

“They may have vital information that will assist the investigation.”

Any witnesses, or anyone with information, is urged to call Trident officers via 101. To remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
