A night of inspiration and celebration took place last month to launch the Paul Strank Charitable Trust. The event was hosted by Christopher Biggins, one of the Trust’s ambassadors.

 There were many guests guests including Pixie Lott the singer songwriter who is currently starring in the West End in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The launch of the Trust took place at Mint Leaf restaurant, Haymarket in central London. 

 Paul and Irene Strank, have been raising money for a variety of good causes over the years. The couple  use  their business, Paul Strank Roofing, as a springboard, and have already helped thousands of people in and around South London, as well as the wider UK.

 Their sustained fundraising efforts were recognised in 2013 with Paul receiving an MBE for services to charity and the community in the Queen’s Birthday honours list.

 Through their drive and passion for helping others, it is estimated that the pair have raised, donated or sponsored more than £2m for charity and the community over the past 30 years and the Paul Strank Charitable Trust has now been set up enable their fundraising to climb to new heights.

 Irene, who is Greek Cypriot, said: “Our focus has always been on the most disadvantaged in our community with a particular emphasis on helping children in need and their families so we’re thrilled to have launched the Charitable Trust.”

 Over the years the inspirational couple have supported many fantastic charities including Children In Need and Shooting Star Chase Children’s Hospice, as well as more recent additions like the Bob Watson Foundation, Croygas Mixed Pan Youth Disability Football Club to name but a few.

 The first fundraiser to be held under the new trust will be the annual Paul Strank Roofing Charity Gala in September this year. The  high profile event is held in association with AFC Wimbledon, the  community-focused football club now promoted to League One.
