He had recently celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with Victoria his wife, who he leaves behind. He was a devoted father to his three children Chris, Eve and Peter.

His daughter Eve is well known singer and actress who is also part of the Martha and Eve duo. Peter Polycarpou his son is the well known actor from TV Birds of a feather who has also had  leading roles in theatre productions such as Phantom of the Opera.

He was a Godfather to many many children, a hugely loved brother to his sisters Mary, Helen and dear departed Eve and his brother-in-laws Sofokli, Michael and recently departed Chris. All his nieces and nephews adored him and thought of him as a father. During his life he ran a successful dressmaking business called Vikki Dresses, employing hundreds of people. He is fondly remembered as being a fair and loving employer who always looked after the people whose lives depended on him whilst they worked with him and indeed wherever they were after they left his employ. He cared for everyone that way. He was a generous contributor to many charities and in particular Thalassemia UK and more recently the Church in his home village of Korphi, Chriso Korphidisa, where they are building a new Church.

The esteem in which he was held by so many people both inside and outside of our community is a testament to his huge kindness and generosity of spirit. He will be missed enormously by those who knew him and were lucky enough to meet him.

Costaki was a frequent Church goer and was blessed (Evlogia) by Father Stylianos of Ayios Lazaros in Forest Gate at his bedside just after his passing.
