In a packed arena on Monday night at the Hilton hotel in Nicosia, Cyprus, New Salamis of London were honoured at the Annual Cyprus Football Association (CFA) Awards gala evening.
Michalakis Michael the chairman of New Salamis who play in the KOPA Football League was there to recieve this award in front of hundreds of guests and in front of live tv coverage from RIK TV the Cypriot national TV station.
Also accompanying Michalaki was the KOPA football league General Secretary Michael Yiakoumi.
An opening speech was made by the CFA President Costakis Koutsoukoumnis followed by the presentation beginning with best team, player of the year awards and top goalscorers to Juniors, Women and Stock league.
This was followed by the main awards in Cyprus with best young player award going to Neophytos Michael the New Salamis goalkeeper. Player of the year award went to George Efrem, the APOEL striker. Manager of the year was Tomas Christianson of AEK Larnaca.
An outstanding achievement award was then presented to Michalakis Michael the chairman of New Salamis (London) by the CFA chairman Costakis Koutsoukoumnis for New Salamis All England FA Cup success after their cup final win over Barnes FC at Selhurst Park the home of Crystal Palace.
Michalakis Michael then made a speech thanking the Cyprus Football Association on behalf of the committee and players of New Salamis.
