UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Philip Hammond and Egyptian FM Sameh Shoukry have expressed their gratitude to Cyprus authorities for their handling of the hijacking incident.

Philip Hammond wrote on his twitter account that he spoke on the phone with FM Ioannis Kasoulides and thanked him for Cypriot work in ending EgyptAir situation safely. He also said that the UK High Commission in Cyprus is supporting  the British nationals who were on board the flight.

Cyprus MFA on its twitter account posted that Egypt FM Shoukry and UK Secretary Hammond held phone conversations with Minister Kasoulides and expressed gratitude for handling of EgyptAir hijack incident.
