Soccer club Apoel FC have signed a five-year TV rights deal with Cytavision.

The state-owned cable provider has spent a reported €8.9 million (US$12 million) to show the Cypriot champions’ local league games and home European qualifiers until 2019. Unlike similar deals in Cyprus the deal does not include any sponsorship elements, allowing Apoel to seek partners elsewhere.

Cytavision replaces LTV as Nicosia-based Apoel’s local broadcaster.

Apoel FC travel to Finland for the first leg of their third qualifying round match in the Uefa Champions League against HJK Helsinki tonight 30th July.
