A 38-year-old Bulgarian man was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of kidnapping and raping a Ukrainian woman.
According to the police, the suspect was apprehended in the morning after eyewitnesses saw the 37-year-old victim jump off the balcony of the suspect’s first-floor flat in the Kapsalos area.
The woman is currently in serious condition at Limassol General Hospital. She suffered several injuries during the fall but was also severely beaten with a wooden club before the sex-assault took place.
According to reports, the mother of two, who does not know the suspect, visited his flat in order to purchase a puppy which she had previously seen advertised on a website.
