On Wednesday morning, in Varvakios market, central Athens, Greece, ten unidentified women bought large quantities of meat and distributed them to their fellow citizens. It is estimated that the ten women spent almost 50,000 euros.

The women arrived in Athens central market at around 10 a.m. with four luxury cars, accompanied by security guards. According to the president of Varvakios market, Kleanthes Tsironis, the women visited several shops, and donated meat to buyers who couldn’t afford it. The ten women stayed in the market for two hours and left when journalists arrived as they didn’t want to reveal their identities.

However, this was not the first time that unknown women have taken such action. On December 23, eight women visited Varvakios, bought 20,000 euros’ worth of meat and distributed it to would-be buyers unable to afford the price.
