The Cypriot tennis team is preparing for an away tie with Denmark for the Davis Cup Europe/Africa Group II, to take place on January 31 – February 2.

The Cypriot squad aims at securing victory that would keep Cyprus in the Europe/Africa Group II and it would provide the opportunity to seek a spot in Group I. The winner must secure three of the five matches.

This is the first time the two squads meet in a Davis Cup tie, with Cyprus facing a tough task, as Denmark aims to bounce straight back to Zone Group I, having been relegated at the end of 2013 in a dramatic 2-3 loss to Sweden.

Sergis Kiratzis, Christos Hadjideorgiou, Petros Chrysohos and Fotos Fotiades comprise the Cypriot squad coached by Demetris Irodotou.

The tie will take place in Horsholm, Denmark. The two first singles matches are scheduled for Friday, January 31. The doubles match will take place on Saturday and the tie will be completed on February with two singles matches.
