Last weekend Sampson Sampson JNR from the Sobell judo club JFAUK  competed in the 2014 Miyazaki Sensei CUP held in Thessaloniki, Greece.

 Countries being represented  in this tournament included Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Japan, Sweden and the UK .It was a great opportunity for Sampson to gain experience and compete with high level Judoka from across the globe.

Sampson fought and won first position in the Dan men U 75 kg winning all of his fights with flair and with maximum scores. 

 Its exciting news as this is Sampson’s first international gold medal, after winning a high number of medals here in the UK. He is now looking forward to opportunities to compete in countries such as America, Japan, Brasil, Australia, and Italy

 The competition was held on the Saturday, and on the Sunday there was an international training led by Sampson Sampson 8th Dan   with high  ranking grades from Japan.

. Its a great step forward for Sampson who late last year  managed to come fourth  (4th) in the WJF European championships held in Milan Italy in November 2013.
