AEK, PAOK, Panathinaikos and Aris all scored hard-fought 1-0 wins over the weekend to keep up the pressure on Super League leader Olympiakos, that will be in action on Monday night.

AEK had Simos Mitoglou to thank for his header that gave it victory at Lamia on Saturday, with the league’s joint best defense holding on to the lead till the end.

PAOK remained level on points with AEK thanks to another headed goal away from home, in this case a late effort by Mady Camara that defeated host Panetolikos. In the first half the Agrinio team had missed a penalty kick.

Panathinaikos, too, won 1-0 away from home beating Levadiakos through another header, by Fotis Ioannidis. The Greece striker has therefore just opened his league tally.

Aris also scored a late goal, through Alvaro Zamora, to claim all three points at home against Panserraikos.

The only team to score more than one goal this weekend was Volos, that finally managed to notch up a home win, beating Asteras Tripolis 2-1 to rise to ninth at the table.

On Saturday Atromitos and OFI canceled each other out for a goalless draw in Peristeri.

On Monday Athens Kallithea hosts Olympiakos.

The Reds have 30 points from 14 games, AEK and PAOK also have 30 but from 15 matches, Panathinaikos follows with 29, Aris reached 27 and Panetolikos stayed on 22.
