President Nikos Christodoulides attended on Sunday a Christmas event organised at the grounds of the Presidential Palace, at the initiative of his wife Philippa Karsera-Christodoulides, noting that it was the first initiative taken to open the Presidential Palace to the public and that it is the beginning of many events to come.
A press release from the Presidency said that the event, which was open to the public, was held in support of small and medium size enterprises and part of the profits from the sales of products will be donated to the Radiomarathon Foundation which supports children with special needs.
In his statements to journalists, President Christodoulides said that “it is a great pleasure to see the Presidential Palace with so many people, with so many children on the festive days.”
“It was the first initiative taken to open the Presidential Palace to the public, it is the beginning of many events that will take place,” he added.
Asked if the event will be repeated at the Presidential Palace, the President said “a decision has already been taken that it will take place, as many other events will be held.”
