It was reported that a confrontation had taken place and a man had sustained a serious injury.

He was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries where he remains.

Now, officers have arrested a 54-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Both have been questioned by officers and are currently on bail until 18 February.

Detective Inspector Chris Rose said:

“We are exploring several lines of enquiry and those in Howard Close will have seen an increased police presence while we work.
“It is crucial we carry out a thorough investigation, and that means we will be remaining in the area for the coming hours.
“Our officers are working around the clock to establish what happened on Sunday afternoon.
“Several people have already come forward to give accounts as witnesses, and we continue to speak to those living locally and identify any CCTV from the surrounding area.
“If you know anything about this incident and you haven’t spoken to us, I encourage you to come forward and help.”
