Maidstone Greek School held their 3rd Annual BBQ. Despite the weather, approx 100 people from the local community still came out to support the school. The school is a small community with approximately 20 students, but the parents and school and church committee are extremely passionate. Harry, the current school chairman, and Angel, the school secretary, help to run and organise the event, where all the profits get reinvested back into the school. Each year, the school also receives sponsorship from A&D Fisheries in Aylesford, St Mickalos Catering Supplies, and PP Electrical Ltd, which cover the South East. All businesses are actively involved in supporting the school, and the school would like to say a special thank you to them all. In addition, this year, the school had support from a new business, Xtinas Bakes, who has recently launched her traditional Greek baking business after celebrating the birth of her first child. Events throughout the day included Greek dancing, and a visit from the Maidstone Orthodox Priest Father David, who done a blessing for our community. The school would also like to extend a special thanks to our teacher Mr Michael for coming and dressing in traditional clothing and explaining to all the children the history of the traditional dress. The school is currently accepting new students for September and runs from the Thomas Aveling School in Rochester every Saturday between 1000-1300.
Massive thankyou to Parikiaki, the School Committee, Parents and Students which made this year another massive success 🙌
