Bookings at coastal resorts and hotels in mountainous areas are high for this election weekend, according to Hoteliers’ Association Director General Filokypros Roussounides.
He told CNA he estimates that most will return home by Sunday to exercise their right to vote for the European and Local Administration elections.
“Due to the heatwave, many Cypriots have made reservations this weekend, mainly on the coast, but also in the mountains,” he said. However, “the vast majority of bookings are for one night, as citizens will choose to return to their homes to exercise their right to vote,” he added, something he said the association also welcomed.
In addition, he said that the Association has instructed hoteliers to facilitate workers in the tourism industry, so that they can exercise their right to vote without hindrance.
