AKEL’s aim for the European elections is the election of two MEP’s and a strong presence in local government

AKEL is optimistic about the targets it has set for both the European and local government elections. From the contacts of AKEL’s party base groups with voters and citizens in general, but also from all the data collected, the messages reaching the Party offices are optimistic and promising.
Speaking yesterday on Alpha TV, the General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, said that the aim is for AKEL to return to its natural percentages.
Moreover, in response to a question about “the messages from public opinion polls”, Stefanos Stefanou said that the messages from the people and AKEL’s daily contact are very good and “make us optimistic about fulfilling the two goals we have set”.
The goal for the European elections, Stefanos Stefanou said, is for AKEL to elect two MEPs, as has been the case since 2004, and for local government to have a strong AKEL presence at all levels of local government.
