The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the IMO presents his credentials

The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the United Kingdom, Dr. Kyriacos Kouros, on 9 May 2024, presented to the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, his credentials as the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the IMO, during a private meeting at the Organization’s headquarters in London.
At the meeting, the Permanent Representative conveyed to the Secretary General the warm greetings of the President of the Republic, expressing his full support for the work carried out by the IMO and the certainty of the continuation of the cordial cooperation of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Cyprus in the Organization.
He also informed the Secretary General about the latest developments in the Cyprus issue and the efforts of President Christodoulides to revive the talks for the resolution of the Cyprus problem and the reunification of Cyprus.
The IMO Secretary General welcomed Mr Kouros and wished him every success in carrying out his diplomatic mission and thanked him for the exemplary cooperation between IMO and Cyprus, characterizing Cyprus as an important partner.
During the meeting, both sides confirmed their will to strengthen relations between Cyprus and the International Maritime Organization.
