Great Yarmouth Police are appealing for witnesses after a recently planted, commemorative olive tree was vandalised in St George’s Park in Great Yarmouth last weekend.
Sometime between 10 – 13 May 2024 the fencing protecting the tree was damaged, and the tree itself was pulled out of the ground and left on the footpath.

On Wednesday May the 8th 2024 Hundreds including UK Cypriots and from the Great Yarmouth community planted the olive tree for their commitment to peace and reunification of Cyprus.

It is part of a UK Cypriot campaign to plant olive trees in the UK to mark commitment to peace and reunification in Cyprus on the approaching 50th anniversary of the invasion of Cyprus by the Republic of Turkey.”
