Phil Foden revealed how much he wants to make “history” as he accepted his Footballer of the Year award from FWA chair John Cross ahead of the recent Football Writers’ Association awards ceremony at the Landmark hotel..
Foden beat off competition from England team-mate Declan Rice and Manchester City team-mate Rodri to win 42 percent of the vote by the FWA, which represents almost 900 football journalists.
He was unable to attend Thursday night’s FWA awards, at which Manchester City Women’s star Bunny Shaw picked up the Women’s Footballer of the Year award, but sent a video message on the night.
