Teenager charged with murder of Taye Faik
Detectives investigating the murder of a 16-year-old boy in Edmonton have charged a third suspect.
The 16-year-old girl [A] was charged on Wednesday, 3 January with the murder of Taye Faik, who was stabbed to death on 1 October 2023.
The teenager, who cannot be named because of her age, was initially arrested on 3 November 2023 and bailed while further enquiries were carried out.
She will appear in custody at the Old Bailey on Friday, 5 January.
Officers began an investigation after being called at 23:27hrs to reports of a stabbing in Kendal Gardens. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, Taye died at the scene.
A post-mortem examination on 4 October 2023 confirmed he died as a result of sharp force trauma to the chest.
Taye’s family have been informed of this latest development and continue to receive support from family liaison officers.
Two men have previously been charged with murder as part of the same investigation:
[F] Josiah James Semper, 18 (31.03.05) of Cromie Close, N13 was charged on 17 November 2023.
[E] Bernard Carroll, 20 (26.12.03), of Church Street, N9, was arrested on 6 November 2023 and later charged.
They are both remanded in custody and are next due to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 16 February.
A further three people, [B] a 20-year-old man, [C] a 22-year-old woman, and [D] a 22-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offence and remain on bail.
