Compared to other cheeses, feta is low in calories and fat. It contains a high amount of B vitamins, phosphorus and calcium, a mineral we need for muscle and nerve function as well as for strong healthy bones and teeth. Additionally, feta contains beneficial bacteria and fatty acids. It is a useful source of protein, may support gut health and keeps you fuller for longer.
This is a popular and delicious Greek feta dip that you can find in most tavernas. Similar to Τυροκαυτερή, a spicy feta dip, it requires just a few simple ingredients and is very quick and easy to make.
I like serving it as an accompaniment to meat, fish dishes and salads, with κριτσίνια (breadsticks) and/or crudités.

Ingredients:
400g Greek feta cheese
100g Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons of fresh milk
1 tsp honey
¼ tsp white pepper
¼ tsp oregano
1 garlic clove, grated
¼ teaspoon lime zest
2-3 tablespoons virgin olive oil

Method:
Wash feta well and crumble with your hands or use a fork to break it up.
Transfer all the ingredients to a blender, food processor or even use a hand held electric whisk, and whip for at least 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy. Blend until the feta is smooth and creamy.
If the cream is too thick, add a little more olive oil. Taste and adjust seasoning; if necessary add more honey.
Place the feta cream in a deep dish, cover and keep in the fridge.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and use a small spoon to create a swirl on the surface of the dip. Serve with κριτσίνια (breadsticks) and crudités.
