Detectives who were appealing to find two men in connection with two assaults outside a casino in Edgware have arrested one man.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Friday, 23 September on suspicion of common assault, he has been bailed to return on a date in mid October.

The appeal also asked for information about a second man who was wanted for grievous bodily harm.

This man has now been identified as Iulian Banu, 26, and enquiries continue to trace him.

The incident happened on Tuesday, 5 July, at around 00:30hrs, outside the Silvertime Casino in Burnt Oak Broadway.

A man had been asked to leave the casino by staff, however he returned to outside the casino a short while later.

He then approached a member of the public, a man aged in his late 40s, and punched him.

The victim suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital where he was found to have two separate bleeds on the brain.

His condition was critical and he required months of treatment, he has now been discharged from hospital but is still recovering.

This assault is being investigated as grievous bodily harm.

Detective Sergeant Dipesh Raithatha, said: “ I want to thank the public and the media for all their support. As a result of the media appeal, one man has been arrested and we have been able to put a name to the second man

“We are asking for the public’s help to locate this man, please do not approach him but call police and tell us what you know. You can also contact Crimestoppers if you do not wish to give your name.”
