Firefighters tackled a flat fire on St Augustine’s Road in Camden.

Part of a three-roomed flat on the second floor of a converted town house was damaged by fire. A man and a woman left the building before the Brigade arrived and were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews.

Station Commander Graham Beers, who was at the scene, said: “Firefighters worked extremely hard to ensure that the fire was contained and did not impact the flats above and below.”

The Brigade was called at 0625 and the fire was under control by 0742. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Kentish Town and Holloway fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
