Detectives investigating an incident in Potters Bar are appealing for witnesses and information.
On Tuesday 20 September, at around 2.35pm, it was reported that a woman had been walking her dog through Furzefield Wood when an unknown male approached her from behind, before grabbing the hood of her jacket.
The victim ran off in the direction of the Furzefield Centre.
The male made no attempts to follow her.
Detective Sergeant Richard Hooley, who is investigating, said: “Understandably, an incident of this nature is likely to cause concern in the local community. Please be assured that we are conducting a thorough investigation in order to identify the suspect. Officers will be increasing their patrols in the area to provide additional reassurance and a visible police presence.
“As part of our enquiries, we are appealing for any potential witnesses or anyone with information that could assist with our investigation to please come forward.
“The suspect was described as being a white male around 6ft tall, and of slim build with dark hair. He was said to be wearing a baseball cap, a khaki coloured coat and blue jeans. If you recall seeing someone in the area who matches the description, or anyone behaving suspiciously, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to please email DS Hooley.
