Helena Paparizou announces Antique reunion
Helena Paparizou caused a stir this week, teasing an Antique reunion on social media.
Effectively, she will be reunited with Nikos Panagiotidis, the man with whom she took her first great steps in her music career.
Without giving away too many details, the singer simply captioned an image of her and Nikos: ‘ANTIQUE 2022 💛 #Antique #TiTi #ComingSoon’.
The reunion was born through a proposal from Sweden, the country where they were born and raised. The duo have agreed to a joint tour in different cities in Sweden throughout the summer.
Though a concert in Greece has not been announced, fans can look forward to a duet, Ti Ti, a cover of Giorgos Alkaios’ biggest hit of the 90s, expected to be released in April.
It’s been 23 whole years since Helena and Nikos burst onto the Greek music scene with a cover of Notis Sfakianakis’ Opa Opa. In 2001, they represented Greece in Eurovision with Die For You, gaining third place.
Helena later decided to follow a solo career and this lead her to the Eurovision stage once again, this time with the song Number One which won first place for Greece.
The reunion of Antique two decades later, is a gift both for the artists and the fans of the duo!
