The Ministry of Health announced on Friday 76 new coronavirus infections (positivity rate: 0.18%), while 45 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals.

No deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. The number of deaths stands at 378, of whom 254 men or 67% and 124 women or 33%). Their median age is 77.

The Ministry notes that despite the fact that no deaths are announced, their total number is increased by four, since 4 more people died of COVID-19 in April and May and have been reported to the Health Monitoring Unit in the previous days. 

Since the outbreak of the pandemic 73,520 people have been infected with the virus.
 
 Out of the 45 patients who are receiving treatment, 18 are in a critical condition (10 of whom are intubated).

In the Famagusta General Hospital there are 10 patients, 17 are in the Nicosia General Hospital and 18 in the Limassol General Hospital.

The 76 new cases were found after 41,891 tests done with the PCR method  (6,844) and the antigen rapid test method (35,047). 

Thirteen cases were detected from contact tracing, 12 from samples taken at airports, 8 from tests done on private initiative, 2 from samples taken at the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 1 from antigen rapid tests done in private laboratories and pharmacies, and 40 from tests done with the antigen rapid test method. Meanwhile, no cases were found from 60 samples taken after GP referrals.
