  1. Xen Xenophontos says:

Complete failure to lower traffic congestion and lower emissions.
    A hazard for emergency services.
A waste of money. A war on drivers.

  2. Navtaij Sangha says:

This LTN is NOT working at all. It has pushed far too much traffic onto Bourne Hill, Southgate High Street, Aldermans Hill and Green Lanes….making it very difficult to get about fir schools, shopping etc. The traffic and pollution is worse.
Please please remove….and return some sense to how traffic is managed across the entire areas to benefit of EVERYONE.

  3. Stefano Loa says:

The scheme is a completely and utterly shambles. Pushing traffic to other roads is not the solution.
The council is failing the people of Enfield.

  4. Ivo says:

Low traffic for 1 Street and big congestion for the rest of the street.. How few people have the right for clean air and other dont??
    Absolut failiure!!!

  5. Liz says:

It’s made the traffic terrible. We can only get in and out via the north circular which isn’t even a proper turning. You have to stop and hold up the a406 and then shoot across when you can. This is next to 2 schools and the amount of times you see kids nearly being run over is terrifying. The traffic is twice as much and with all the traffic lights it means we have more idyling traffic now including lorries right outside the children’s playground. The emergency services weren’t informed and there has been numerous incidents of them being delayed when they are called out, some serious close calls have happened. Our streets around were we live are empty but a block away we are surrounded by all the idyling traffic of the north circular so it has actually made the pollution worse. Also there has been no public transport put in to compensate for the closures so ironically we are being forced to drive and the journey is miles longer. The traffic is worse so when you could nip to the shop to do your shopping the 10 minute drive now can take an hour. What is so upsetting is we have all been trying to get something done about the pollution for years and no one would listen, now this has made the pollution even worse and is attacking the most vulnerable in our area. Disabled and elderly have been completely ignored and women with children are also being hard hit. The stupidity of not consulting with those of us who live here is baffling. Whoever designed this doesn’t know the roads and the cruel disregard for the poorer communities living on the north circular is shocking not to mention the disregard for the children going to bowes primary and Bloomfield school. This has not helped our community, it’s destroyed it and now they have taken our street lights away replacing them with barely there lights it’s really scary coming home at night from the tube. The streets are eerily empty and dark, crime has sky rocketed and this is not a nice area to live anymore. Just to point out also this is a totally residential area, no high street with no alternatives to driving put in through public transport to help people not drive. To tell us all to ride bikes isn’t a solution and shaming disabled, elderly, vulnerable etc is disgusting. The bullying that has gone on over this by councillors who don’t even live here and refuse to listen is shameful.

  6. Richard Ivan Johnsen says:

Utter waste of time. On 3 occasions last week driving to and from Southgate Circus from Mintern Close N13 took 30 minutes each way. 30 mins of pleasure sitting in petrol and diesel fumes and believe it or not only 1 cyclist travelling on in the cycle lane on the wrong side of the road.

  7. Nishant Kauldhar says:

This scheme has not helped or worked at all. There’s even more traffic in the High Street and alternative routes and the traffic is now pushing back further. LTN is not a sustainable solution and is more an attack on motorist.

  8. Alex says:

Working in Enfield is now getting close to impossible. Travelling on public transport to get to work means you are stuck in traffic on main roads and it is getting worse. Adding extra travelling time to get to and from work is not helping and adding tothe pollution. I cannot ride a bike due to health and mobility issues but thankfully i can work…for how long i can continue to work before my employer closes down due to lost trade i do not know.

  9. Panayiotis Nicolaou says:

    Total disaster!
Polution in the surrounding areas has doubled. There are so many cars being pushed onto very few roads now that are coising tailbacks.
It delays the response of the emergency vehicles in both the LTN’S and the surrounding areas.
Please see some sense and remove these gusstly LTN’S

  10. Amanda Greaves says:

The worst decision the council could have made.. it has just moved the problem elsewhere snd made it 10 times worse!! Please remove so our local traffic can start to move agsin!!

  11. Andry Leon says:

Please remove as it creates traffic, stress getting to schools and work on time which also creates road rages. No emergency access to streets. I think it’s the worst thing they ever done. Please remove ASAP!!!!

  12. Nick Foyle says:

I haven’t heard one positive comment about the LTNs, once lockdown completely eased on people back in offices it will only get worse.
Traffic up to Southgate and around Palmer’s green is horrendous and far worse than before the LTNs
    They do not work.

  13. Ayesha says:

I cannot believe the LTNs are still in place. Grid lock traffic around Aldermans Hill and Southgate Station, pollution levels through the roof for those unfortunate enough to live on the congested roads and my elderly parents living in the LTN stuck in traffic to make their regular trips to chase farm hospital. All to benefit the privileged few.

  14. Tessa says:

Enfield Council has created absolute bedlam and chaos around Southgate, Palmers Green and the Cherry Tree. These are LONDON suburbs, one of the largest cities in the world. We need traffic to go about our daily business and most of us pay road tax to use our roads. I can’t cycle, and walk or use public transport when possible, but please please put an end to these destructive LTNs

  15. Alex says:

The LTNs have been put in place without any consultation from the local residents , the tax payers. The traffic is now at a standstill. Residents outside the LTNs are experiencing significant pollution and some are showing signs of respiratory problems. This statement has not been plucked from the air, I know people who are feeling unwell, they are struggling to breathe. What affect is the increase in traffic having on our children? I believe that we are going to have a significant number of children with serious respiratory problems. Even if the local council believe that this system is going to reduce the number of cars on the road I don’t believe this is the case- wake up Enfield the traffic has not disappeared

  16. Penelope Adamou says:

Please remove them. They are creating mor traffic and accidents. Who ever made the decision to have them should be sacked. Disgraceful.

  17. Jaimeni says:

It’s awful! More traffic more pollution makes no sense!!!

  18. Isabel Becerra says:

Awful, has totally failed in reducing air pollution; the traffic has NOT evaporated! Peripheral roads have massively increased traffic, constant gridlock and high levels of pollution. I am also very concerned about my teenage daughter walking home from friends’ houses through completely empty roads in the evening. A scheme that has benefitted the most privileged residents of Palmers Green and divided the community
