Cyprus recorded 61 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday out of 30,610 tests carried out, while no deaths were announced due to the disease. The positivity rate from rapid tests is now 0.20% while 46 patients are treated in hospital, 22 of whom in a serious condition.

The total number of deaths from COVID-19 remains 378, 254 or 64% men and 124 or 33% women, with 77 being the median age of the deceased. Total cases since the outbreak of the pandemic have reached 73,643, the Ministry of Health said in a press release.

Forty-six patients with COVID-19 are treated in state hospitals, 22 of whom in a serious condition; ten are intubated in the ICU and another 12 patients are being treated in an ACU.

Out of total 30,610 tests, 5,832 by PCR and 24,778 by antigen rapid test, 61 new COVID-19 cases were detected, the Ministry said.

In particular, 1 person was tested positive out of 60 samples taken through the contact tracing procedure; 7 people tested positive out of 4.197 samples taken at the Larnaca and Pafos airports; 9 people tested positive out of 1,371 samples tested privately; 1 person tested positive from 216 antigen rapid tests performed at private laboratories or pharmacies and 43 people tested positive out of 24,562 antigen rapid tests carried out.
