The Ministry of Health announced on Friday the death of one patient to COVID 19, bringing the total number of deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic to 363, 241 men (66%) and 122 women (34%).

Meanwhile, 52 people are receiving treatment in state hospitals, 18 of whom in a serious condition.
 
A total of 54,217 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and 83 new coronavirus cases were found, withg a positivity rate of 0.15%. The number of infections in Cyprus rose to 72,709.
 
The patient who died was a 92 year old man. The median age of the deceased is 78.
 
Out of the 18 patients who are in a critical condition, 11 are intubated. In the Famagusta General Hospital  there are 14 patients, 23 in the Nicosia General Hospital and 15 in the Limassol General Hospital.
 
The 54,217 tests were carried out with the PCR method (6,389) and the rest with the antigen rapid method. The new cases were found as follows: 28 from contact tracing, 7 from samples taken at the airports, 14 from private initiative, 5 from samples taken at the Microbiology Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 2 from antigen rapid tests done in private laboratories and pharmacies and 27 from antigen rapid tests. No cases were found from 222 samples taken after GP referrals.
