Cyprus recorded no new deaths due to COVID-19, 67 new cases were detected out of 21,250 tests on Monday, authorities announced, with the positivity rate standing at 0.32%. At the same time 46 patients with the disease are treated in hospital, 19 of whom in a serious condition.

The total number of deaths remains 378, 254 or 67% men and 124 or 33% women, with the median age of the deceased being 77. The number of COVID-19 cases reported since the outbreak of the pandemic is 73,710.

Forty six patients are in state hospitals across the island, 19 of whom in a serious condition, the Ministry of Health said in a press release. Ten are intubated in an ICU while one person is treated in an ICU but is breathing without the help of a ventilator. Another eight are in an ACU.

Out of 21,250 tests carried out today, 4,944 by PCR method and 16,306 by antigen rapid test method, 67 new cases were detected as follows:

Eleven people tested positive out of 4,399 samples taken at the Pafos and Larnaca airports, three people tested positive out of 477 samples tested privately, five people tested positive out of 68 samples taken from the General Hospitals Microbiology Labs, one person tested positive out of 194 samples tested in private clinics and pharmacies and 47 people tested positive out of 16,112 samples tested by antigen rapid test method in the context of the government mass testing drive.
