Cyprus has clinched seven victories in the first day of the European Championships Third League games which are held this weekend, in Limassol.                                 
                                                           
The victories of the Cyprus group of athletes are helping towards the main goal which is the return to the Second League. The athletes were significantly helped by the presence of fans in Tsirion stadium.

Cyprus ranks second at the end of the first day of games with 290 points, only ten points behind Serbia. Moldavia ranks third with, followed by Luxembourg which is trying to get to the third place.

Victories went to Olivia Fotopoulou (100m 11.42), Stavros Avgoustinos (100m. 10.53), Eleni Artymata (400m 51.79), Meropi Panagiotou (3.000m., 9:38.18), Vasilis Constantinou High jump (2,12μ.), Amine Khadiri, (5.000m., 14:22.58) and the Women`s 4 x 100m at 44.61.
 
Some athletes recorded the best performance in the history of the Third League. Olivia Fotopoulou achieved top performances in the 100m. with 11.42, Eleni Artymata in the 400m. with 51.79, Bob Bertemes in the men’s shot put with 21.02m. and the Women’s 4x100m relay team with 44.61.

The relay team consisted of Olivia Fotopoulou, Marianna Pisiara, Ramona Papaioannou and Eleni Artymata.
