One death and 42 new Covid-19 cases were announced on Saturday in Cyprus. The Health Ministry also said that 33 patients are currently hospitalized of whom 13 are in a serious condition.
 
The total number of deaths increased to 373, whereas the number of coronavirus cases recorded in Cyprus since the outbreak of the pandemic reached 73.157.
 
The death concerns a 68-year-old man who died at the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
 
The 42 new covid-19 cases were found out of 43,502 PCR and rapid tests carried out today. The positivity rate stands at 0.10%.
 
The new cases were among 43,502 tests, PCR and rapid tests, with a positivity rate of 0.10 per cent.

As regards the deaths recorded due to coronavirus, the Ministry said 250 are men (67%) and 123 women (33%). The average age of the deceased is 77-years-old.
 
It was also announced that 33 patients are hospitalized, 13 of them are in a serious condition. Six of them are intubated, two are being treated in ICU and five in Increased Care Units. Most of them, 13 are being treated in Nicosia General Hospital, 9 are in Famagusta General Hospital, in Makario there are 2 patients and 9 in Limassol General Hospital.

As regards  the new cases, one was detected out of 37 tests done in the process of contact tracing, 4 out of 2,942 samples taken at the airports, 10  from 1,975 samples tested on private initiative, 2 from 474 antigen rapid test done at private laboratories and pharmacies, 25  from 37,984 antigen rapid test.

In Nicosia 15,144 rapid tests test were done with 12 found positive. The positivity rate stands at 0,08%. In Limassol 9,109 tests were done and 9 were found positive. The positivity rate is 0.10%. A total of 5,406 rapid tests were done in Larnaca with one coming out positive. The positivity rate is 0.02%. In Paphos out of 4,424 rapid tests one came out positive. The positivity rate is 0.02%. Finally, two cases were detected out of 3,678 tests done in Famagusta. Positivity rate: 0.05%.
