Cyprus recorded 62 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday out of 41,226 tests carried out, while no deaths were announced due to the disease. The positivity rate from rapid tests stands at 0.15% while 44 patients are treated in hospital, 21 of whom in a serious condition.

The total number of deaths from COVID-19 remains 378, 254 or 64% men and 124 or 33% women, with 77 being the median age of the deceased. Total cases since the outbreak of the pandemic have reached 73,582, the Ministry of Health said in a press release.

Forty four patients with COVID-19 are treated in state hospitals, 21 of whom in a serous condition; nine are intubated while one person is treated at an ICU but does not breath with the help of a ventilator. Another 11 patients are being treated in an ACU.

Out of total 41,226 tests, 5,337 by PCR and 35,889 by antigen rapid test, 62 new COVID-19 cases were detected, the Ministry said.
 
In particular, 8 people tested positive out of 3,708 samples taken at the Larnaca and Pafos airports; 7 people tested positive out of 1,502 samples tested privately; 1 person tested positive out of 127 samples from the General Hospitals Microbiology Labs and 46 people tested positive out of 35,686 antigen rapid tests carried out.
