Cypriot Maria Markou won the silver medal in the Para Powerlifting World Cup that takes place in Tbilisi, Georgia.

This is Cyprus` first medal in world para powerlifting.

A press release by the Cyprus Sports Organisation says that this is “a great international success for Maria Markou, who managed to get on the podium  among 90 athletes from 25 countries”.
