A cloudy morning met us for a long anticipated game for many Akanthiodes ☁️?️

Akanthou just 1 point away from securing the KOPA League Division 2 title for the first time in its history set the tone all week.

Akanthou starting had the lions share of possession with Omonia Youth working hard to stay in the game. It wasn’t long before Akanthou took an early lead from Charlie Georgiou reacting quickest to settle the ball in the back of the net on the 10min mark. 0 – 1. Going down to 10 men after a reckless challenge was reacted to the scene was set to fully wake the morning game up. Akanthou found themselves 0 – 2 up after 30mins when George Latayaa stepped up to slot the ball bottom corner. Akanthou growing in confidence on the ball won a penalty on the 45min mark which was blasted home by our unstoppable goalkeeper Harvey Simpson. HT 0 – 3. Second half kicked off with Akanthou stepping up another level and showing some scintillating spells of individual and team brilliance with the final goals coming from Brandon Dujon and George Lataaya. Akanthou players will agree they played better with 10 men and Omonia Youth better with every passing week

Panathinaikos beat Cinar 3-2 with Andrew Yiakoumi scoring twice and Farly scoring the other. Cinars goals came from Zane & Karim.
