Omonia are still on top of the Cypriot football League after a comfortable 2-0 win away to Anorthosis taking them three points ahead of second placed ApollonĀ  and four points ahead of third placed AEL.

Omonia took the lead in the 44th minute when a cross from the right landed at the feet of their forward Thiago who floated the ball into the goal from the edge of the penalty area.

The second Omonia goal came in the 79th minute when from cross and header from a fellow player made it possible for Scepovic to tap it into the back of the net.

Second placed Apollon beat their their third placed Limassol rivals AEL 2 -1 Apollon led from the 31st minute when one of their players was brought down in the penalty box and Diguiny scored from the spot.

They increased their lead in the 74th minute when the AEL goalkeeper and the ball at his feet and in no danger had his pass that was meant for a defender was intercepted by Apollon forward Biveswar who slotted the ball into an empty goal.

AEL reduced the score to 2-1 with a last minute goal from Danilo.
