It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John (Yiannakis) Photiou on Thursday 18th February 2021. John passed away at his home, aged 54. He will be sadly missed by his wife Maria, sons Harry and Vasilis, parents Vasilis (from Ardana) and Maria(from Trikomo), his sister Doulla and her family and all those that knew him.
John was loved by his family and friends as he had such a great sense of humour, an infectious smile and enjoyed life. He learnt to run a Fish and Chips restaurant from a young age by his parents. In the last 10 years, he owned a Fish & Chips restaurant/take away called Sea Shell in Finchley Central, Long Lane. He was much-loved by his customers and local community.
His funeral service will take place on 6th March 2021 at 11:30 am at the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Katherine, and the burial at New Southgate Cemetery, Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions attendance to the funeral is limited to 30 people on an invitation only basis. The family has requested no flowers; a Just Giving page has been setup in honour of John for whoever wishes to donate to our chosen charity the North London Hospice:

Με μεγάλη θλίψη ανακοινώνουμε το θάνατο του Ιωάννη (Γιαννάκη) Φωτίου την Πέμπτη 18 Φεβρουαρίου 2021. Ο Ιωάννης πέθανε στο σπίτι του, σε ηλικία 54 ετών. Θα λείψει δυστυχώς πολύ στη σύζυγό του Μαρία, στους γιους του Χάρη και Βασίλη, στους γονείς του Βασίλη (Άρδανα) και Μαρία (Τρίκωμο), στην αδερφή του Τούλλα και στην οικογένεια της και σε όλους όσοι τον γνώριζαν.
Ο Γιαννάκης ήταν πολύ αγαπητός καθώς είχε καλό χιούμορ, χαρισματικό
χαμόγελο και απολάμβανε τη ζωή. Από νεαρή ηλικία έμαθε να διευθύνει
εστιατόριο Fish & Chips από τους γονείς του. Τα τελευταία 10 χρόνια,
λειτουργούσε το δικό του Fish & Chips – Sea Shell στο Finchley Central, Long Lane. Αγαπήθηκε πολύ από τους πελάτες του και την τοπική κοινότητα.
Η κηδεία του θα τελεσθεί στις 6 Μαρτίου 2021 στις 11:30 π.μ. από την
Εκκλησία της Αγίας Αικατερίνης και η ταφή στο κοιμητήριο του New Southgate. Δυστυχώς, λόγω των περιορισμών της πανδημίας, η συμμετοχή στην κηδεία περιορίζεται σε 30 άτομα και μόνο κατόπιν πρόσκλησης.
