Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters tackled a waste recycling plant blaze on Oakleigh Road in New Southgate.

A corrugated building containing a large amount of general waste was damaged by fire. Thankfully the fire did not affecting any properties but there was heavy smoke in the local area.

The Brigade was called at 2025 on Saturday 6th March 2021 and the fire was under control by 2355. Firefighters from Southgate and surrounding fire stations are at the scene throughout the night. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
