It was with enormous sadness that we learnt of the loss of our dear friend Neophytos. Our heartfelt sympathy and love is extended to Evoulla, Egli, Alex and Maria’s families who must be bereft at this extremely difficult time.
Neophytos has been a great support to us, the Cypriot Community Centre and the Cypriot Women’s League. He attended all our functions and events to both support and fundraise for the community.
Additionally, annually, he and Evoulla used the Centre to fundraise for the Radiomarathon Centre for People with Special Needs, an event which in the latter years, was also dedicated to their beloved daughter Maria.
Over the years, without hesitation, Neophytos and Evoulla also involved their whole family, children, grandchildren, in-laws, in supporting the community events. His excellent role as Ayios Nicholas at our Vasilopitta parties was eventually passed on to their grandson, Jimmy. However, he continued to lead us all with his marvellous singing both at these and other community events.
Neophytos’ gentlemanly manner, character and generous nature, meant that no one could resist contributing to these good causes and all were delighted to work with him for any issue to benefit the community and, of course, Cyprus. In the latter case, he supported all the work and events organized by the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK.
We will miss you sorely Neophytos but will never forget you.
