Before the Committee of Inquiry (looking into the “golden passports” scandal) in the beginning of February, Mr. Anastasiades claimed that he did not know if his son-in-law was involved in the Ayia Napa Marina project, from which company executives and shareholders were granted passports. He had even stated that “If you find that anyone from the Ayia Napa marina was favoured, I will accept your observations.”
If nothing else after the Report of the Audit Office, Mr. Anastasiades will have been informed by now that his son-in-law is one of the directors in the company of the Marina project in question. He must have also been informed that eight illegal passports were granted to company executives. If he did not know even this either, then he could be informed by the Law Office of Nikos Anastasiades which submitted the passport applications or by the Council of Ministers which he himself chairs, which approved the illegal passports. In addition, there is another issue of favorable treatment of the company that involves the presidential groom regarding the lease of state land in a primary location through problematic procedures.
A new huge scandal again concerns him and his family environment, but he has neither the sensitivity to give a reply, nor to take the responsibility. The truth is that Nikos Anastasiades is openly mocking all the citizens of our country. The DISY government has humiliated institutions and morals.
