Cyprus` Health Ministry announced 302 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total to 35,009. The positivity rate is 0.79%.

No deaths were recorded while 76 patients are hospitalised, 24 in serious condition.

The new cases were detected from a total of 38,001 tests (PCR and antigen rapid tests).

The total deaths are 231, 154 are male (67%) and 77 female (33%) and the median age is 79 years.

From the 24 patients in serious condition, 12 are intubated, 2 are in an ICU and 10 in an ACU.

From the 38,001 tests carried out,  2,583 were done via PCR and 35,418 via the rapid antigen method.

Today`s cases were detected as follows:
88 from 580 samples taken from the contract tracing process, 4 from 900 tests done at airports, 10 from 510 samples taken on a private initiative, 4 from 354 tests done at the Microbiological Labs of General Hospitals island-wide, 3 from 239 tests from GP referrals and tests done at public clinics, 6 from 533 rapid tests done at private labs and 187 from 34,885 rapid tests done in the mass population testing.

Limassol district still has the highest positivity rate at 1.15%, Nicosia`s PR stands at 0.27%, Larnaka at 0.43%, Pafos at 0.11% and  Famagusta at 0.72%. One positive case was detected at a care home in Larnaka, 1 at testing done at Strovolos Industrial Area and 2 at the National Guard.
