Savoulla Efthymiou

With extremely heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved Savoulla took her final breath on the 10th of February 2021. She was born in 1929 in Tymvou, Cyprus, and talked fondly of her life in Cyprus even until her final few weeks. She leaves behind an extremely loving son, Laggi, daughter-in-law, Tanya and two granddaughters Alexandra and Elizabeth, all of whom she was especially close to. She was the last remaining sibling of 6 and became the much-loved matriarch to her nieces, nephews and goddaughter.

A garden of yellow daisies in full bloom,
A winning hand at Kounka,
The smell of fresh cooking when you enter the room,
A cheesy Easter flaouna.

Tales of the village over hot tea mugs,
A sip of bitter-sweet coffee,
Thick black cardigans for cosy hugs,
And the master of every recipe.

Next time we play cards or smell some flowers,
We’ll smile at the sky and thank God she was ours.

The funeral will take place on Friday 19th of March 2021 at St Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church, followed by a burial at New Southgate Cemetery. Unfortunately, due to restrictions as a result of COVID-19, attendance numbers are limited to 30 on a strictly invitation-only basis. Με εξαιρετικά βαριά καρδιά αναγγέλλουμε ότι η αγαπημένη μας Σαβούλλα, άφησε την τελευταία της πνοή, στις 10 Φεβρουαρίου 2021.
Γεννήθηκε το 1929 στην Τύμβου, Κύπρος και μιλούσε με θαυμασμό για τη ζωή της στην Κύπρο μέχρι και τις τελευταίες της εβδομάδες.
Αφήνει πίσω της έναν εξαιρετικά αγαπητό γιο, τον Λάκη, νύφη Τάνια και τις δύο
εγγονές της Αλεξάνδρα και Ελισάβετ, με τις οποίες ήταν στενά συνδεδεμένη.
Ήταν το τελευταίο παιδί από οικογένεια των 6 που απέμεινε και ήταν αγαπημένη
γυναίκα, αρχηγός για τα ανίψια και τη βαφτιστήρα της.
Η κηδεία της θα τελεσθεί την Παρασκευή 19 Μαρτίου 2021 στην Ελληνική
Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία της Παναγίας, ακολουθούμενη από ταφή στο κοιμητήριο του New Southgate. Δυστυχώς, λόγω περιορισμών ως αποτέλεσμα του COVID-19, οι αριθμοί
συμμετοχής περιορίζονται σε 30 με πρόσκληση μόνο.
